Volta NDC Chairman Visits North Tongu, Offers Support to El-Wak Stampede Victim

The Volta Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Mawutor Agbavitor, has paid a working visit to the North Tongu Constituency, during which he called on Ms. Constance Zotorvi, one of the victims of the recent stampede at the El-Wak Stadium during a military recruitment exercise.

Ms. Zotorvi sustained serious injuries to her right elbow and shoulder in the incident and currently has her arm in a sling. She told the delegation that the experience had been traumatic and added that she is scheduled to return to the 37 Military Hospital in the coming days for further medical review.

Mr. Agbavitor met with Ms. Zotorvi and her family to express solidarity on behalf of the party’s regional leadership and assured them of the NDC’s continuous support throughout her recovery. He also made a financial presentation to help address her immediate needs and conveyed warm regards from the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, who is on official duty outside the country.

The Regional Chairman further pledged to personally follow up on all commitments made to victims of the El-Wak incident to ensure that Ms. Zotorvi receives every benefit and assistance due her.

Mr. Agbavitor was accompanied by the Acting Volta Regional Secretary of the NDC, Mr. Bright Egeh Quarshie; the District Chief Executive for North Tongu, Hon. Victoria Amefadzi Yawa Doe; and constituency executives.
