The 2000 Year Group of Mawuli School will, on Sunday, October 26, 2025, officially hand over a fully renovated “White Block” to the school’s authorities as part of its 25th Anniversary and the institution’s 75th Anniversary celebrations.
The gesture, estimated at GHC 300,000, represents the Year Group’s commitment to preserving the school’s heritage while providing a more conducive environment for teaching and learning. The renovation works covered complete structural repairs, roofing, painting, replacement of classroom furniture, and modernization of facilities to align with current educational standards.
The “White Block” remains one of Mawuli School’s most iconic and historic structures, having served generations of students since the school’s formative years. It stands as a symbol of the institution’s enduring legacy of discipline, academic excellence, and service — principles embedded in its motto: Head, Heart, and Hand.
According to the leadership of the 2000 Year Group, the project was inspired by the group’s collective desire to give back to their alma mater and to safeguard one of the school’s oldest edifices for posterity. For many members, the “White Block” holds cherished memories of their academic journey and the values that shaped their personal and professional lives.
The official handing-over ceremony will be held at the forecourt of the renovated building and will be attended by school authorities, staff, students, alumni, parents, and invited dignitaries. The occasion will not only mark the completion of the legacy project but also reinforce the spirit of unity and gratitude that characterises the Old Mawuli Students Union (OMSU).
As part of activities commemorating its 25th Anniversary, the 2000 Year Group will also visit and make a charitable donation to the Ho Central Female Prisons on Friday, October 24, 2025. The outreach is aimed at supporting the welfare of inmates and fostering community engagement through acts of compassion and encouragement.
Founded in 1950 by the Evangelical Presbyterian Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. C.W. Armstrong, Mawuli School continues to uphold its mission of holistic education rooted in faith, integrity, and excellence. Over the years, the school has produced distinguished personalities across diverse sectors who continue to contribute meaningfully to national development.
Through this legacy project, the 2000 Year Group seeks to reaffirm its loyalty to the ideals of Mawuli School and to inspire current and future students to carry forward the institution’s proud tradition of leadership and service.
